Anak Movie Plot Summary
In this movie, Vilma Santos plays Josie, the mother of Carla (Claudine Barretto), Michael (Baron Geisler), and Daday (Sheila Mae Alvero). Her husband Rudy (Joel Torre) is a loving man but cannot provide enough for their financial needs. Josie decided to be an OFW in Hong Kong and worked as a nanny for 10 years, and was not allowed to go home when her husband passed away. She suffered a lot especially that she was not able to take care of her children while they were growing up.
Upon her return to the Philippines, she noticed that Carla grew up as a rebellious young lady. In addition, Michael had deep trouble in school while Daday barely knows her. Later, Carla got pregnant out of wedlock and Michael was kicked out from the school. In the minds of her children, Josie was a useless mother despite her sacrifice and effort to make money for their future. Nevertheless, Josie did not give up for her children and continued to give them unconditional love.
